Mmmmm. Avocado.
Did you ever notice that in your minds voice, the sound Mmmmm, followed by any single, other word, has the voice of Homer Simpson? Funny.
Anyway, Simon has been doing really well with new foods lately, eating lots of carbs, carbs and more carbs :-) He loves apples, squash, pasta, sweet potatoes, bananas, cheese (although not always) bread of any kind, crackers, prunes, pears, mangos, blueberries (in pancakes, of course) and oh, did I mention AVOCADO! He loves him some avocado.

He may look suspect but that's only because I've run out of avocado in this photo and he knows I'm about to pawn some other food onto him...

Sledding in New Hampshire
Simon was lucky enough to get a fancy sled for Christmas to live at the lake house. Grandma and Grandpa took him out yesterday for a walk and some sledding. He seems less than impressed but tolerant of the things we do to him. He was wearing his new snowsuit Mom found on ebay and the mittens Aunt Jody made him.

Nerds are everywhere
I am over in Greece and the hotel I am staying in was very full. Turns out they were hosting a Warhammer 40,000 tournament. The floor with the conference rooms smelled like bo and cigarettes. They had at least 30 tables going with lots of people watching each game.
For those of you who don't know, warhammer is a minature game where you move your painted figurines around and fight each other. I haven't seen anyone playing it since high school.

One Quick Photo
Simon is getting so big. On Thanksgiving he had his first crawling experience. He went backwards about 8 feet and then put his head down on the floor and had a meltdown. No photos of this event, I didn't want to disturb him.
On Saturday he had his first bagel which was a big hit! There were tons of people to stare at as well so he had a great day.

Happy Halloween
No, Simon won't be trick or treating tonight but he did attend his first ever parade of costumes at Grandma's elementary school on Friday. Simon was an adorable bear (big thanks to Aunt Jody for knitting him such a special costume) and Grandma was a park ranger. The two of them were so cute, looking at all of the children in the parade.

I also took some photos of Simon in his costume at home, hoping to catch that elusive smile. No smile, but this was just too sweet not to share.

We also took Simon to the pumpkin patch last weekend for the obligatory fall photo and I have to admit, he's sooo cute sitting amidst the pumpkins I can see why parents do this every year.

Next year, we might have to take someone with us to get a family photo of the three of us. Of course it took about 50 shots of each pair to ensure all eyes were open at the same time, let alone smiling/grinning. So be forewarned... a family photo could take a while.
But don't worry, Simon will enjoy playing in the dirt and trying to eat the pumpkins no matter how long it takes.
