I chased this bird around for 5 minutes trying to get a shot of him. This is the best I could do before he flew away. I figured my Dad might know what kind of bird this since I have no clue. If anyone knows let me know!

My dad reports that bird is a Western Tanager.
I really really would have liked to see you chasing this bird around. LOL!
That is definitely a Northwestern Snipe. If you really want to attract one, you need to try at night with a flashlight and a pillowcase. They're attracted to the light just like deer and will dart for the nearest closed space if it sees you. The best part is, the pillowcase looks like a safe spot, but then you've caught it. Give it a try!
